I see so many LinkedIn and Facebook profiles that feature a profile image that so poorly represents the great person I know they are.  If you are simply online for the fun of it, then a fuzzy iPhone photo or a poorly lit image of you at a party is fine (don’t even get me started on “selfies“).  If you are an entrepreneur, seeking a job or looking to promote yourself in any way through social media, that profile picture matters more now than ever before.

I feel like I’ve been shouting from the rooftops about how important it is have a professional image, and now there is science to back this up….

Headshot photography matters, get ahead with a professional image

Professional images deliver professional results.  Period.

Recruiters and decision makers who view your resume or profile spend the majority of their time looking at your image.  From the diagram of eye-tracking above, you can see that the image is where they start and finish.  Making a great first impression can be the difference between getting a call, or getting passed over….

Previous clients of mine have had their headshots take them further in their careers, and even into directions they weren’t expecting.  If you can’t be bothered to present a professional image to the world, why should anyone pay attention to you?  Headshots open doors, create opportunities and give you the confidence to share your profile & website, knowing that you are making a great first impression.
